It's been a while since I've uploaded anything. This past semester kept me pretty busy and I've been working on other projects. My goal with this page has always been to document my progress as I (hopefully) improve at drawing ponies and other things. Lately that's involved a lot of quick incomplete sketches that aren't really worthy of sharing. But now that the summer is finally here, I should have a little more free time to devote to artistic endeavors. I can already tell that I'm a bit out of practice, so I'll probably be focusing on the fundamentals. Getting better means lots of hard work, and trying to develop good drawing habits without making the bad ones permanent. I've still got a long way to go before I'll be truly satisfied with my ability, assuming that's even possible. It's always good to be a little unsatisfied so that you never stop wanting to learn.

First off, a big thank you to everybody that saw and commented on my "Applejack the Wonderbolt" drawing. It has received way more views than anything else I've done, which makes me feel that a day spent drawing ponies is not just a day wasted. It was exciting to be featured on EQD and I'm looking forward to the rest of the training grounds. The format appears to follow the weekly episode, and now that the semester is over, I feel like I have enough time to pick up art again. I'll try to keep pushing myself to get better, but I can't promise they will all be epic compositions. It's really exhausting. That said, here's to the rest of Season 3 and the new training grounds!

Well, it's been a long couple of weeks.  I came late to the party about a third of the way through, but it still took a lot of effort.  Especially at first just to get caught up.  Thanks to everyone who commented or favorited one of my pieces and I'm grateful for the new watchers.  Practice really does help and I feel like I'm getting better.  I'm hoping to stay active with art, but I don't think I'll be able to keep up the daily pace.  It's exhausting.  Art is supposed to be fun!

I'm going to do my best to follow along with Equestria Daily's Newbie Artist Training Grounds II, and draw a daily pony for the next few weeks.  I got started a little late, but I just finished all of the make up drawings and am now caught up.  I plan to experiment with some new styles and I hope to draw a different pony each day.  This should make for some good practice.
